SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Schenectady Police Department says 16-year-old Schenectady High School student is accused of lighting a firework on an occupied school bus Tuesday afternoon.
Around 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, police received a call from the bus driver stating that an "explosive device" had been set off in a school bus in front of the Schenectady High School.
Officers responded and determined 16-year-old Tyricke Walker had lit one firecracker on the bus while there were between 20-25 people on board.
The bus was cleared and examined by Schenectady Police K9 Officers and the Schenectady Fire Department.
Walker is charged with Reckless Endangerment 2nd-degree, a misdemeanor, and Unlawfully Dealing with Fireworks, a violation.
There were no reported injuries.
