ALBANY, N.Y . - An Albany man has been indicted Tuesday on charges he allegedly left a three-year-old dog inside his apartment that starved to death.
Albany County District Attorney David Soares says Corey Squires, of 815 Myrtle Avenue, locked a female American Bulldog inside his residence for a period of about four months, between January and April 2012, without food or water.
The indictment alleges Squires' actions caused the dog to die from starvation and dehydration.
Squires is charged with Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, a felony, and Overdriving, Torturing, and Injuring Animals; Failure to Provide Proper Sustenance, a misdemeanor.
