PRATTSVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - A bridge in the northern Catskills has been reopened after a cracked steel truss was repaired.
The bridge carrying Route 23 across the Schoharie Creek in Prattsville in western Greene County was closed last week after an inspector found the cracks.
The state Department of Transportation says a project to paint the bridge was continuing Monday.
Route 23 was heavily damaged by tropical storms Irene and Lee late last summer. It wasn't completely reopened until early December.
Officials said the bridge cracks weren't related to the flooding. The span reopened to traffic just before midnight Friday.
