BECKET, MA - The Becket Police are looking for Gary A. Weiner, of 89 Lady of the Lake, after he committed a series of crimes, beginning with a domestic altercation at the intersection of Wells Road and Route 20 on Friday night.

Becket Police Officer Nicole Miller responded to the intersection and saw Mr. Weiner drive his 2005 black pickup truck through the stop-sign and turn westbound onto Route 20.

Officer Miller activated her blue lights and siren to stop the vehicle. Mr. Weiner failed to stop, and a pursuit ensued.

Officer Miller reports that Mr. Weiner reached speeds of 80 miles per hour, and at points was traveling in the breakdown lane.

Mr. Weiner turned right onto Fred Snow Road, which is a dirt road, and Officer Miller continued to follow the cloud of dust left behind by Mr. Weiner's vehicle.

Mr. Weiner then turned right onto Gentian Hollow Road and crashed his vehicle. Officer Miller came upon the motor vehicle accident, and noted that Mr. Weiner had fled the scene.

Becket Police then took a call from Berkshire County Sheriff's Control that a motor vehicle located on Hamilton Road had been stolen.

The vehicle description was provided and around 8:45 p.m., a Trooper of the Massachusetts State Police spotted the vehicle on Wells Road.

The trooper attempted to stop the vehicle and Mr. Weiner again failed to stop, and crashed the stolen motor vehicle, once again fleeing on foot.

State Police K-9 Units along with the State Police Air Wing were requested to respond to the scene in an attempt to locate the suspect.

The search continued into the afternoon on Saturday.

Gary Weiner is still at large.

Mr. Weiner is facing multiple offenses including domestic assault and battery, failure to stop for a Police Officer, driving to endanger, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with property damage, and multiple motor vehicle infractions.

The Becket Police Department is requesting that anyone with information on the location of Gary Weiner contact the Becket Police at (413) 623-6010.
