Vehicle strikes 6-year-old and leaves the scene

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - A 6-year-old child was a victim of a hit-and-run on Eastern Avenue in Schenectady on Thursday.

Police in Schenectady say the driver in the incident struck the child around 7:36 a.m. in the area of 998 Eastern Avenue.

The child was brought to Ellis Hospital with minor injuries.

The car is described as a newer model, silver Acura sedan.
