JOHNSTOWN, N.Y. - The brother of a woman found dead, beaten and naked, along a lonesome Fulton County road is demanding an apology from the Sheriff.
Billy Jackson, of Gloversville, tells NEWS10 he wants Sheriff Thomas Lorey to take back comments he made after Jackson's sister 54-year-old Kathryn Jackson Alling's body was found this past June.
At the time, Lorey told media outlets he suspected hallucinogenic bath salts likely played a role in Alling's death. But results from a toxicology test released last week found that Alling had only alcohol in her system.
Sheriff Lorey was out on medical leave Wednesday and was unavailable to comment. But the Fulton County District Attorney Louise Sira is defending the sheriff, saying she believes bath salts may have been part of the circumstances in Alling's death.
Sira says Alling's husband, 42-year-old Brent Scott Alling, is still a person of interest in this case.
The cause surrounding Alling's death is still unclear. The case is expected to go to a Grand Jury when the medical examiner's report is complete.
