NISKAYUNA, N.Y. - A 16-year-old boy is in custody of Niskayuna Police Tuesday morning after a police standoff that lasted several hours on Monday evening.
Police say the hostage situation began just before 4 p.m. Monday at a home on Cunningham Court, off of Eastern Parkway, in Niskayuna when the teen barricaded himself in the home with a gun. Police say they believe a woman was inside the home as well.
Police say it was reported that the teen threatened to kill himself and shoot at officers.
The standoff ended shortly after 11 p.m. Monday after hours of negotiation with the suspect, he walked out of the home and was arrested.
No one was harmed in the incident.
The suspect has been arraigned on felony weapons charges. He is set to appear in Niskayuna Town Court on Wednesday.
