ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A woman who once worked for the New York Assembly and is now running for the state Senate, is making new harassment accusations.
Monica Arias Miranda said Sunday she saw and was subjected to belittling comments and behavior when she worked for the powerful Assembly Ways and Means Committee.
She says her formal complaint against an administrator was ignored and she faced retaliation.
Miranda says young women workers were nicknamed by bosses.
She doesn't claim any physical contact.
Miranda says she went public because of a sexual harassment scandal involving an Assemblyman.
An Assembly spokeswoman says Miranda didn't get along with her boss, but she never claimed she was sexually harassed and never filed a complaint.
She faces a Democratic primary Thursday in the 46th Senate District race.
