EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. - Four teenagers have been charged with arson in connection to a blaze that destroyed the former Kospa Family farmhouse in East Greenbush, police say.
Police in East Greenbush say the blaze was started as a prank on Wednesday night, demolishing the vacant farmhouse which was a historical landmark having been built in Dutch colonial times.
Police say the blaze went unreported for a half-hour or more and was fully involved by the time the fire department arrived at 99 Start Avenue. The fire was quickly labeled as suspicious.
Charged with Arson is 16-year-old Thomas Snyder, of East Greenbush, and three 15-year-old boys. Snyder is also charged with Reckless Endangerment and Criminal Mischief and was released to the custody of his attorney. The 15-year-olds are charged with Arson and Juvenile Delinquency and released to the custody of their parents.
No injuries were reported in the blaze.
