ALBANY, N.Y. - Albany County District Attorney David Soares says his office is doing a great job cleaning up the streets and putting away criminals, but challenger Lee Kindlon says the DA's Office could be much more efficient.
"A court system to show to the gangs and the thugs and the bullies that we will not stand because they know the District Attorney's Office is going to come for them," said Kindlon.
"Our Office has an incredible record of convicting violent criminals," said Soares.
Another issue is how the DA's Office spends their money.
"There is no wasteful spending in the Albany County District Attorney's Office, historically the talk with legislators is that we've underfunded the District Attorney's Office," said Soares.
"Open the doors for an audit, we had an audit last in 2008, and it opened up a number of inconsistencies in the budget," said Kindlon.
Occupy Albany was also a source of controversy, Soures ended up not prosecuting the protestors, Kindlon said he would have.
