ALBANY, N.Y. - An Albany Police Department vehicle was involved in an accident on Western Avenue Monday afternoon, Spokesperson Steve Smith tells NEWS10.
Around 2:30 p.m. Monday, the police car was responding to a call, traveling east on Western Avenue. With lights and sirens on, the police car went through a red light when a car driving south on Ontario Street with a green light, did not respond to the sirens and collided with the police car.
Two police officers were taken to Albany Medical Center with minor injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle was treated for a wrist injury.
There are no tickets issued at this time.
