QUEENSBURY, N.Y.---Family, friends and members of the Queensbury football team gathered at the Regan Denny Stafford funeral home on Monday, saying goodbye to 16-year-old Jonathan Vasiliou, who died of an unknown infection.
Vasiliou's death came as a shock to not only his family and friends, but to the entire community.
Queensbury's football game was played Saturday in honor of Vasiliou, who was supposed to be the starting center this year.
Many of his teammates gathered at the funeral home to show their support, saying with school starting Thursday, his death is even harder to deal with.
A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish in Queensbury Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m.
