Fatal accident on I-87 southbound

LATHAM, N.Y. - On September 2nd at 9:35 a.m., the New York State Police investigated a one-car fatal auto accident on I-87 southbound, just north of Exit 7.

A 2002 Toyota Land Cruiser lost control, exited the right shoulder and overturned.

The front seat passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver and three other passengers were transported to Albany Medical Center for evaluation of non-life threatening injuries.

The name of the deceased passenger is being withheld at this time pending familial notification.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.
