$8K donated made to homeless veterans program

Posted:
ALBANY, N.Y. - Homeless veterans across the Capital Region are getting some additional help from an unlikely source, a local beer distributor.

Thursday morning, the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center received a check for $8,000 from Saratoga Eagle Sales and Service, the largest Anheuser-Busch distributer in Upstate New York.

During the summer, Saratoga Eagle teamed with Budweiser on a national program that supported military families and a local program that raised awareness and money for VA homeless veterans programs in the Capital Region.

The funds were raised through a national "Here's To Heroes" program in which Saratoga Eagle sold badges showing support for our military for $1 each to its patrons.

Based on the success of this year's program, Saratoga Eagle says it plans to expand its fundraising campaign next year.
