COBLESKILL, N.Y. - A Cobleskill man has been arrested Monday after state police say he assaulted two female Department of Social Services who were attempting to assist his handicapped girlfriend.
Police say the DSS workers went to a residence to give a handicapped female a ride to a doctor's appointment when her boyfriend, 30-year-old William Nelson, became agitated and did not want her to leave with the workers.
According to police, Nelson allegedly struck the workers with his crutch, pulled their hair and pushed both to the ground.
Nelson was charged with two counts of Assault, Obstructing Governmental
Administration and Harassment. He was arraigned and remanded to the Schoharie
County Jail.
