SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - The City of Saratoga Springs is geared up for the annual Travers Weekend, celebrating the 143rd running of the $1 million Travers Stakes on Saturday at Saratoga Race Course.
Travers kicks off Friday night with the third annual Travers Eve party on Broadway in downtown Saratoga Springs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Meet jockeys for autographs from 7:30-8:30, enjoy strolling entertainment including Reggie and the Red Hot Feetwarmers and Sparkles the Tall Juggler or stop by participating stores and restaurants for a Travers-themed giveaway.
Saturday, gates will open early at the track at 11 a.m. for the 13 race card. The Grade I Travers Stakes goes off at 5:46 p.m., race 12, with the favorite "Alpha" in the 6 post position ridden by Ramon Dominguez.
