AMSTERDAM, N.Y. - The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says a marijuana eradication operation yielded over 200 marijuana plants to be confiscated from ten different locations.
The county-wide purge was conducted on August 14, 2012. Locations in every township in Montgomery County were checked.
The Sheriff's Office says some of the marijuana plants seized ranged upwards of five feet tall, utilizing four-wheelers from the Sheriff's Office to remove the plants.
The Sheriff's Office determined the locations targeted for eradication with the help of several law enforcement agencies and the general public.
Local law enforcement agencies in Montgomery and Fulton Counties working together say they have made this marijuana eradication a yearly event and because of its success removed hundreds of pounds of marihuana from the streets of our communities.
The investigation continues into the illegal growing of marijuana. No arrests have been made at this time.
