COLONIE, N.Y. - Two Albany Academy graduates got the chance to play tennis against some of the top touring pros and college players from around the country in a local tennis tournament this weekend.
Matt Kandath, of Saratoga Springs, is one of nearly 100 tennis players to compete in a $5,000 tournament at the Colonie Country Club.
Kandath, who is entering his senior year at Standford, made it all the way to the finals of the men's singles tournament before losing Sunday afternoon.
His sister, Sarah Kandath, who is entering her sophomore year at Brown didn't let her big brother outshine her; she made it to the finals as well but came up just short.
Both say the competition can only help as they approach their upcoming seasons.
