RICHMONDVILLE, NY - State police have released the name of the tractor trailer driver that was killed earlier this week when his rig sailed off an I-88 overpass in the town of Richmondville and hit a passenger vehicle on the route below, setting both vehicles ablaze.
Police say 47-year-old Jeffrey Mueller, of Maine, was killed on Sunday in the crash which also included a passenger vehicle that was traveling on State Route 7.
The
two occupants of the passenger vehicle, 36-year-old Crescent Ives and 15-year-old Kilee
Ives, both of Worcester, are still being treated for their
injuries at Westchester Medical Center.
Mueller was found dead in the wreckage of the crash and was identified through dental records. The cause of death was determined to be blunt force compression of the chest and severe thermal burns.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
