
ALBANY, N.Y. - The Albany Police Department announced multiple street closures starting Friday, August 17th.
Road Closure: Springsteen Road
On Friday August 17, 2012, from 12:00 p.m. until Monday August 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., Springsteen Road between Rapp Road and South Frontage Road will be closed to all traffic for a neighborhood event. Rapp Road between South Frontage Road and Springsteen Road will be converted from a One Way southbound to a Temporary Two Way during these dates and times to accommodate through traffic past this closure.
Road Closure: State Street
New York Special Olympics Over the Edge event at the Hotel Albany
On Friday, August 17, 2011, from 8:00 a.m. to 8: 00 p.m., State Street Westbound between Pearl Street and Lodge Street will be CLOSED to all traffic. Those who usually travel westbound on State Street should use North Pearl Street, to Pine Street, to Lodge Street, and back to State Street.
Parking will not be permitted on the north side of State Street between Pearl Street and Lodge Street during this event.
The CDTA bus stop within this block will be relocated to the west side of Lodge Street at State Street. CDTA will post signs directing their patrons of this change and the location of the temporary bus stop.
Eastbound State Street traffic will remain open to all eastbound traffic.
Road Closures and Parking Restrictions: On Friday August 17, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. until August 18, 2012 at 9:00 p.m.
The City's Contractor will be milling and paving the following streets:
Broadway, between Van Tromp/Orange Streets and State Street
James Street, between Columbia Street and State Street
During these dates and times the following traffic plans will be in effect:
Broadway: Traffic will be restricted to one lane northbound and one lane southbound through the work zone
James St: James Street will be closed to all traffic through the work zone

The following streets will have No Parking posted during the above dates and times:
Broadway both sides between Van Tromp/Orange St and State Street
James Street, both sides between Columbia Street and State Street
Steuben Street, both sides between James Street and Broadway
Pine Street, both sides between James Street and Broadway
The following streets will be closed to all but local and emergency vehicles:
Columbia Street between N. Pearl Street and Broadway
Maiden Lane between N. Pearl Street and the east dead end near Broadway
James Street between Columbia Street and State Street
