LIVINGSTON, N.Y. - New York State Police say a Schenectady woman has been arrested after she allegedly fabricated a story that her mother attempted to shoot her.
Police say on Tuesday around 4 p.m. they received a call from 32-year-old Tiffany Rinchere claiming
to be the victim of an attempted murder in the Columia County Town of Livingston.
Troopers
responded to the scene on Route 10
and interviewed Rinchere who stated that her elderly mother attempted to shoot her with a
hand gun.
A further investigation revealed that Rinchere had actually fabricated
the entire incident.
Police say she
planned the incident and planted physical evidence, including ammunition casings
at the scene to make it appear that the event actually occurred.
Rinchere is charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence, Falsely Reporting an Incident, and Making a Punishable False Written Statement.
