ALBANY, N.Y. - The Albany Parking Authority
and The City of Albany announced a parking initiative titled "2 Blocks, 2
Bucks, 2 Easy" that features a $2 evening
parking rate.
All three Albany Parking Authority garages - Columbia, Green-Hudson and Quackenbush - will charge customers only $2 for all night parking when entering after 6 p.m. except when special event rates are in effect.
"The
Columbia Garage is only two blocks from the North Pearl Entertainment District and
is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week," said Mayor Jennings.
Michael Klein, Executive Director of the Albany Parking Authority says drivers can park in the Columbia Garage for only $2 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., which can be accessed between Broadway and Water Street. For those that choose to leave their car overnight, the day rate from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. the cost is $11.
In addition, the Green-Hudson and Quackenbush garages feature the same $2 rate until close at midnight and are located near destinations such as The Times Union Center and Palace Theatre.
