LATHAM, NY - A benefit will be held on Sunday, August 12th, from noon until 8:00 p.m., to raise money for Adeujuan Adams' post-surgery flight home.
15-year-old Adeujuan was paralyzed from the neck down on May 25th, after being stabbed in the back of the neck by a man who was trying to take his bike.
Adeujuan was airlifted to Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia, a facility specializing in spinal cord injuries.
The surgery was made possible by community donations.
Adeujuan will need to be flown home in a few weeks, and the family does not have the funds necessary to make the flight possible.
The benefit will be held at Lanthier's Grove on Route 9 and Dunsbach Ferry Road in Latham, NY, and will raise the money for Adeujuan's return flight.
Food and drinks will be served from noon to 4:00 p.m., including hot dogs, burgers, corn on the cob, pasta salad, wings, ribs, beer and soda.
Tickets are $36.00 for adults, and $15.00 for children between five and twelve years old.
Children under five years old are free.
