Berkshire County man behind bars on $1 million bond

BERKSHIRE COUNTY, MA – A Berkshire County man accused of rape is being held behind bars on one million dollars bond.

Police say 39-year-old Jeffrey Vigiard raped a 20-year-old woman in her home as her small child was sleeping. They say it happened just hours after Virgiard was released from jail in New York after serving time for larceny.

Virgiard pleaded not guilty to aggravated rape charges. He is being held on one million dollars bond.
