NISKAYUNA, N.Y. - The Niskayuna Police Department is investigating a large number of reported vehicle and property thefts throughout the town.
The Police Department says since the beginning of June approximately 100 reports have been filed with the department where either unlocked cars or open garages have been entered and property has been stolen.
Items such as loose change, GPS units, credit cards and other valuables were reported stolen from inside vehicles, where as items such as bicycles or golf clubs were reported stolen from peoples' garages.
Police say seven people have been arrested and charged in connection to some of these burglaries, but stolen property reports continue to be filed.
The reports have been coming from all neighborhoods in town and the crimes have been committed at all hours of the day.
The police department encourages residents to lock their cars and secure their property. They also remind residents to remove valuables from cars or hidden from out of site, and call 911 if they see anything suspicious.
