ALBANY, N.Y. - Albany police are investigating the shooting of a 32-year-old Albany man that happened Tuesday evening on First Street.
Officers responded to First Street around 5:00 p.m. after receiving a call that a man was shot. When they arrived, they located the victim, Rasuan Kornegay, with a single gunshot wound to his right leg. He was treated at the scene by medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
This is the second time in which Kornegay has been the victim to a shooting. He was also shot in December 2010.
Kornegay's mother is a member of the group SNUG, which is guns spelled backwards. The group's goal is to keep guns off the streets and to raise awareness on gun violence in the Capital Region.
