TROY, N.Y. - The 911 tapes and surveillance video have been released regarding the man dragged by a truck for four miles in Troy.
"911 where's your emergency…Stewarts"
The 911 call came in around 5:30 p.m. Sunday from the Stewart's Shop on the corner of Fifth and Congress in Troy.
According to police there was a dispute between two 45-year-old men who knew each other, Robert Kowalik and Seth Scudds.
"My pills, yes it is, I want my pills," said Kowalik.
Next, according to police, Kowalik, somehow became attached to the back of Kowalik's white pick-up truck. Scudds was behind the wheel and stepped on the gas.
"I got hit by a truck. I'm hanging on the back of a white truck. Hurry, hurry," said Kowalik.
According to police, Kowalik hung onto the truck for four miles, as it dragged him through the streets of Troy.
"He just hit me, I'm hanging on his truck, hurry, hurry, oh please hurry, I can't hang on too much."
The driver ended up pulling into Walmart, which was caught on surveillance video.
You can see Kowalik being dragged by the truck as he held onto the back of the bed, the whole time still speaking with 911 over the phone.
"We're in Walmart right now, hurry, hurry, we're in the Walmart parking lot, right now, hurry, hurry, please hurry."
At that point Kowalik was able to free himself from the truck. According to police the truck had run over his leg, causing lacerations and scrapes.
"Ahh, he just ran over my leg, he ran over my leg, my leg, oh my leg," said Kowalik.
A short time later Police arrested and charged Scudds with assault, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.
None of Kowalik's injuries were considered life threatening.
