FORT EDWARD, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death for a Washington County man who lost six children in a house fire two years ago.
The Post-Star of Glens Falls reports that police say 37-year-old Lewis Carl Smith II was found unresponsive in a vehicle late Saturday in the village of Fort Edward.
Smith was transported to a hospital, where he died Sunday morning.
Police say his death doesn't appear to be suspicious.
In June 2010, a fire ripped through Smith's home in Fort Edward, killing his six of his seven children, who ranged in age from 1 to 12 years old.
Officials said the fire was sparked by a wrong fuse installed in first-floor outlet.
