ALBANY, NY – The rain cleared up just in time for the New York Giants third day of training camp at the University at Albany.
The Giants' receiving core was one of their strengths last season with the trio of Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz, and Mario Manningham catching balls from Eli Manning.
However a broken foot suffered during the spring for Nicks and the departure of Manningham during free agency is allowing other receivers to battle for a spot on the roster.
Nicks has begun running and is targeting mid-August for his return. Until then, he and the coaching staff will watch as young receivers like Jerrel Jernigan and Randle Reuben try to secure a spot in the receiver rotation.
