BROADALBIN-PERTH, NY – Students and parents at Broadalbin-Perth High School raised nearly $20,000 themselves in an effort to reinstate their fall junior varsity sports teams.
Last year the high school received news that they were going to lose their fall junior varsity sports teams due to budget cuts.
The school's sports booster held a car wash on Saturday to help raise more money. The car wash was free of charge but donations were accepted. Despite nearing the fundraising goal in August, the community was able to reach their goal on Saturday.
Parents and students say they will not stop now and they will turn their attention toward fundraising for the winter and spring junior varsity sports.
