SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – A Schenectady man is accused of
assaulting an off-duty New York State Trooper in Saratoga Springs early
Saturday morning.
Saratoga Springs Police responded to the area of 47 Phila
Street at 3:30 a.m. for a possible fight in progress.
Investigation determined that 27-year-old Kevin Press, of
Schenectady, allegedly was being verbally abusive and disorderly to other
people in the area. Press is then
accused of assaulting an off-duty New York State Trooper when the trooper
advised him to discontinue his behavior.
Press was arrested for Assault 2nd, a Class D
Felony, and Resisting Arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor. He was arraigned and taken
to Saratoga County Jail where his bail was set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bail.
He is scheduled to appear in City Court at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
