TROY -- Habitat for Humanity Capital District announced Friday it will be building nine new homes in South Troy. The project is called "Fox Hollow" and will be built at the intersection of Burden Avenue and Cross Street.
Habitat for Humanity Capital District has merged with Rensselaer County Habitat for Humanity, and they said this project would be the first of many.
Habitat joined with the City of Troy to break ground on the project, which is named after Seymour Fox, a well-known Troy attorney.
The project is being funded through a $676,000 grant from the city.
Troy Mayor Lou Rosamilia said it would, "continue the resurgence of one of Troy's most historic neighborhoods."
Habitat said the houses would be sold at below market rate, with zero interest mortgage rates to low income families and would begin accepting applications in late August.
