GUILDERLAND, NY –Police arrested a suspect accused of robbing
a Bank of America in Guilderland on Thursday.
Guilderland Police were called to the bank located at 1971
Western Avenue at approximately 2:45 p.m. for reports for a bank robbery.
The suspect, 23-year-old Philip Watts, of Albany, allegedly
passed a note to a teller and made off with a quantity of money.
Watts was arrested and the stolen money was recovered at the
location of his apprehension. He was arraigned on charges of Robbery 3rd
Degree and Grand Larceny 4th Degree. He was remanded to the Albany
County Correctional Facility without bail.
Police do not believe that Watts was involved in the night deposit
robbery at the same bank on July 18th.
The New York State Police, State K-9 Units, State Aviation
Units, Albany County Sheriff's Department, and the New York State Environmental
Conservation Police assisted the Guilderland Police Department in the arrest.
