BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - The National Weather Service is extending a notice about possible severe weather in southern Vermont.
The weather service says severe thunderstorms are possible in the coming hours, especially in Bennington and Windham counties.
It also has placed those counties under a tornado watch until 9 p.m.
A tornado watch means conditions exist that could lead to the development of tornados.
Other parts of Vermont have forecasts of likely showers in central Vermont and a chance of showers this evening in northern Vermont.
