ShopRite to donate bike helmets to Albany Police Dept.

ALBANY, N.Y. - ShopRite Supermarkets will be donating 320 bicycle helmets to the City of Albany Police Department Thursday.

The helmets will be used this Saturday as members of the Neighborhood Engagement Unit hold their second annual West Hill Bicycle Rodeo in Swinburne Park. Children who attend the event this Saturday will be given a new bicycle helmet and will learn about bicycle safety.

The helmets will also be used by members of the Community Services Unit at several community events throughout the summer.

They will be making the donation from the ShopRite store on Central Avenue Thursday afternoon.
