
DURHAM, N.Y. - Eight people were sent to the hospital with minor injuries Monday after a bus carrying passengers from Camp Govoah crashed into a utility pole.
State police say the bus carrying 13 people from the camp crashed around 4:30 p.m. on Route 22 in the town of Durham.
The operator, 20-year-old Naftali Miles, stated that the vehicle lost power and started to roll backwards. The vehicle continued backwards for approximately 1/10 of a mile and traveled off the south shoulder striking and severing a utility pole.
The accident is still under investigation.
