TROY, N.Y. – The City has closed Knickerbacker Pool in Lansingburgh Monday and Tuesday due to safety concerns over a broken power line near the facility.
At approximately noon on Monday, a power pole collapsed near Knickerbacker Pool, located at 104th Street and 7th Avenue. Troy Fire Department personnel and National Grid crews responded to the scene. No one was injured.
The broken power pole compromised the line feeding power to the facility's pool house and bathrooms. Crews from National Grid and the City of Troy are expected to work into the night and the pool is scheduled to be reopened on Wednesday. The spray pool at Knickerbacker Park remains open.
