SCHENECTADY, NY – The Schenectady County Sheriff's Office hosted a gun buyback
program on Sunday.
The buyback was held at the Consecration Temple Church on State Street.
It is the county's second buyback event. The first event was considered a
huge success after 28 guns were turned in.
Buyback officials offered gift cards to individuals who turned in their
firearms.
The program is part of a continuing effort throughout the Capital Region to
stop gun violence.
The gun buyback program is being offered on a monthly basis at different locations
throughout Schenectady County.
