GLENVILLE, NY – A Glenville man wanted by the New York State Parole was arrested on Friday after he assaulted and attempted to flee an officer.
At approximately 12: 50 a.m., an officer observed 54-year-old Earl Snare Jr. as a passenger in a vehicle traveling North on Route 50.
Snare ran from the vehicle when the officer attempted to pull it over at 413 Saratoga Road.
The officer caught up to Snare and attempted to take him into custody when Snare struck him in the mouth. The officer was forced to Taser Snare so he could successfully take him into custody.
The officer sustained injuries to his mouth and hand. He was treated and released from Ellis Hospital.
Snare was turned over to the New York State Parole and taken to the Schenectady County Jail.
Glenville Police have filed charges against Snare for Assault 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. Snare was found to be in possession of cocaine at the time of the arrest.
Snare will be arraigned on Tuesday in Glenville Town Court.
