ALBANY, NY – On Tuesday, July 24 one lane will be closed over the Dunn Bridge and will cause detours for large trucks.
The Dunn Bridge connects the City of Albany to the City of Rensselaer, carrying Route 9 and Route 20 over the Hudson River.
The left lane is currently closed on the ramp that carries traffic west from Rensselaer over the bridge. The lane will open and the right ramp lane will close.
Due to the narrowness of the lane and tight radius of the curve, large trucks will not be able to navigate the curved ramp during closure, the New York State Department of Transportation says.
A detour will be instituted for westbound truck traffic, rerouting them on Route 9 and 20 east to Route 4 north to I-90 west. Trucks using the eastbound Dunn Bridge will not be affected by the detour.
It is anticipated the detour will be in effect for approximately three months.
