GLENVILLE, NY – A Colonie man was arrested for stealing property from a Glenville home after the victim found the stolen items for sale on eBay.

Jason Dyer, 24, is accused of burglarizing a home located on Virginia Blvd on July 4th.

Dyer allegedly broke into the home's garage and stole approximately $3,000 worth of property, which included two 21 speed racing bicycles.

The homeowner later located the bikes for sale on eBay. Investigation revealed that the bikes were sold to a pawn shop located in the same neighborhood as Dyer.

The owner of the pawn shop positively identified Dyer as the seller of the bikes.

During investigation, Dyer was found to be in possession of several other items believed to be stolen. The items included another bicycle, army memorabilia, roller blades, and a small golf medallion.

Dyer was arrested and charged with one count of Burglary 3rd Degree and one count of Grand Larceny 4th Degree, both Felonies. He was arraigned in the Town of Glenville Court and remanded to the Schenectady County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or bail bond. He is scheduled to return on Tuesday.

Glenville Police ask residents in the Virginia Blvd area to check their properties to see if they may have been a victim of Dyer. Anyone with information is asked to call Glenville Police at (518) 384-3444.
