ALBANY, NY – Albany Police say two city teens broke into
several garages and cars and stole property.
Officers received a call just after 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday to
the 800 block of Third Street for two teens on bicycles going through a
backpack.
Upon officer's arrival, the two teens were found with a
backpack containing several stolen items. The officers learned that the two teens broke
into several garages and cars throughout the night. Together they stole GPS
units, money, credit cards, and the two bikes they were riding.
The 16-year-old teen allegedly broke into vehicles parked on
Berncliffe Avenue and Holmesdale Avenue. He was charged with Burglary 2nd,
two counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th, two counts
of Petit Larceny, and Possession of Burglary Tools. He was arraigned in Albany
City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
The 15-year-old teen allegedly entered and stole items from a
vehicle on Crescent Drive. He also allegedly broke into a garage on Buckingham
Drive and stole items from a car. He was charged with Grand Larceny 4th,
Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th, Criminal Possession of
Stolen Property 5th, Burglary 2nd, and Petit Larceny. Due
to his age, he was released to his parents and scheduled to appear in Albany
County Family Court at a later date.
