CHROON, N.Y. (AP) - A 34-year-old Rockland County man has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident in connection with a crash on the Northway in Essex County last November.
State Police arrested Joseph Bohunicky Jr. of West Nyack Tuesday evening. Troopers said Wednesday that the arrest followed an intensive investigation by State Police collision experts.
Bohunicky was arraigned Wednesday in Essex County Court and was sent to the Essex County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or a $10,000 bond. He's scheduled to re-appear in court on Oct. 4. Police didn't know if he has a lawyer.
The crash in the town of Schroon killed 65-year-old Mary Morrissey of Mechanicville in Saratoga County. She was riding in a car that was struck from behind.
