SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - The 19th annual Siro's Cup will kick off the start of the summer meet at Saratoga Race Course Thursday night.
The fashionable gala, held on the eve of Opening Day, benefits the Center for Disability Services and this year will honor trainer Linda Rice.
Siro's Cup starts at 6:30 p.m. at Siro's Restaurant. Rice will be honored at 7 p.m. for her contribution to the horse racing industry, her professional accomplishments at
the Saratoga
meet, and her role as an ambassador for the sport.
The event will welcome many top jockeys and trainers that will be in Saratoga for the 40-day track meet.
Local band, the Electric City Horns, will play until 11 p.m.
Tickets are still available and cost $150 at the door.
