Planes diverted to Albany due to severe weather in NYC area

ALBANY, N.Y. - Albany International Airport is acting as the "port in the storm" for several aircraft on route to New York City area airports.

Severe storms in the NYC area have forced a total of seven flights to divert to Albany to await clearance into NYC airports. 

This is a photograph of a United Airlines 757 on route  from Edinburgh, Scotland, to Newark.

The plane and 167 passengers is parked at the US Customs building awaiting cleared to resume its flight to Newark.
