FLORIDA, N.Y. - State Police in Montgomery County arrested a Syracuse man for drug possession after responding to a one-car roll over accident on the New York State Thruway early Monday morning.
Police say the accident happened around 2:42 a.m. in the town of Florida. Upon arrival, police say they found the two occupants of the vehicle to be uninjured and the driver, 24-year-old Connor Wingate, of Syracuse,
was found to be impaired by drugs.
Wingate was also allegedly found to be in possession of approximately 8.5 ounces of the drug
Ketamine.
Wingate was
arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the
4th degree, Driving while ability impaired by drugs and various Vehicle and
Traffic law violations. He was arraigned in the town of Florida court and remanded
to the Montgomery County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000
bond.
