Ghent man leads troopers on pursuit

KINDERHOOK, NY - On Sunday at approximately 6:50 a.m., Troopers observed a 1998 Dodge pickup truck speeding travelling southbound on ST-9 in the town of Kinderhook.

Troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the suspect vehicle failed to comply. A pursuit was initiated which subsequently travelled through various roads in the town of Kinderhook and was terminated on ST-9H in the town of Ghent after the suspect's vehicle ran out of fuel.

The operator of the vehicle was identified as Adam F. Salvatore, 27, of Ghent, NY. 

Salvatore was taken into custody and charged with Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer 3rd Degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd Degree, Operating Without Insurance, Reckless Driving, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Speeding and several other Vehicle and Traffic violations.

Salvatore was arraigned in the Village of Kinderhook Justice Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail on $1000 cash/$2500 bond.
