TROY, N.Y. – Two early morning fires that occurred around Troy Sunday are both being considered suspicious, officials say.
The first fire, which broke out at 20 118th Street in Lansingburgh was reported around 1:00 a.m. and a few minutes later a fire in an apartment building at 257 Ninth Street was reported.
All residents escaped the 118th Street blaze, which fire crews say appeared to be intentionally started near an outside wall. Officials say the Ninth Street fire started inside of the first floor vacant apartment, and is also being considered suspicious.
The American Red Cross provided financial assistance for food, clothing, and temporary lodging to a family of four, two adults and two children, that lived on Ninth Street.
Watervliet and Green Island Fire Departments assisted at both scenes.
The State Office of Fire Prevention and Control is assisting in the investigations.
