Woman arrested for purse larcenies in Montgomery County

The purse larcenies began in May and deputies allege that since that date there has been five separate similar occasions. Deputies allege that 49-year-old Roxanne Sharp, of Broadalbin, entered Amsterdam businesses where she targeted elderly woman and stole their purses when their shopping carts were unattended.

Deputies responded to three of the five complaints this week and a fourth theft on Friday led to Sharp's arrest. She was charged with Grand Larceny 4^th Degree.

Sharpe was arraigned and remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on $25,000 cash bail.

Members of the New York State Police and the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office assisted the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
