MOREAU, NY – A Moreau man will not serve time behind bars
for his ninth drunk driving conviction.
A judge order 47-year-old Robert Carota a $4,000 fine and
his vehicle must be equipped with an ignition interlock device.
The Warren County District Attorney Kate Hogan says she
wanted Carota to serve time in prison. If
Carota is arrested again within the next three years, he could face up to four
years in prison.
Carota was sentenced to state prison in 2010 after his ninth
DWI arrest in Glens Falls. At the time of his ninth DWI arrest he still had a
valid driver's license.
